macOS Permissions Issues

If Bartender is having issues with permissions, please try the following options in order:

Option 1: Remove and re-add permissions

Go to System Preferences > Privacy & Security > Screen & System Audio Recording, remove Bartender, then do the same in Accessibility. Restart Bartender and re-grant the permissions when prompted.

Option 2: Terminal commands

For direct download version, run these commands in Terminal:

tccutil reset ScreenCapture com.surteesstudios.Bartender
tccutil reset Accessibility com.surteesstudios.Bartender

For SetApp version:

tccutil reset ScreenCapture com.surteesstudios.Bartender-setapp
tccutil reset Accessibility com.surteesstudios.Bartender-setapp

Option 3: Reset the permissions database

If the above doesn't work, you may need to reset the entire permissions database. This is a more advanced solution — see this MacWorld article for instructions.
